Product Description:
The Dr Who Dalek USB Webcam & Microphone – a great looking webcam that is in the shape of a Dalek! Always wanted to stick a Dalek on top of your computer? Well, now you can and actually have it achieve something. The Dalek USB webcam can see and hear you with its concealed lens and built-in microphone. Open the Dalek’s armour to reveal the lens. You can see and talk to all of your friends and family around the globe. A great design for webcams, influenced by one of Dr Who’s worst enemies, to be used anywhere on your desktop! Hopefully it won’t grow up to be a full size Dalek. If it does then maybe you should run!

Be careful,
Be careful when ordering this item – it is not compatible with Windows Vista, but the Amazon item description cunningly fails to tell you this. So beware – I bought one before Christmas for £18, and it’s completely useless to me.

|Works fine on Vista,
You need to use different drivers, the ones that come with it are not any good. Works well with Delux drivers and AMCAP program. Vista thinks its a HP basic starter camera with HP Driver version 5.18.1.2
Also works on Skype… Great little webcam at £4.99

|Mine works fine!,
Despite poor reviews I have found this Dalek webcam to be perfectly adequate over the past two years. I am living in New Zealand for a year and have spent a lot of time Skyping friends and family; the webcam has worked fine every time. My only (minor) criticism would be that the Dalek casing is not that robust – the door that opens to reveal the camera comes off quite easily; having said that it also fixes back on quite easily. The cables could do with being a bit longer and the gun attachment snapped off early on, however these are nothing to do with the performance of the camera and for under £10 you really can’t complain – it certainly looks great and the eyestalk lights-up when in use – what more could you want?!
